EDITORIAL PROPER
Underdog no more
Once upon a time we were the underdogs.
Yet, as Bulacan State University prevailed on the September 2013 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination, it proved that there is more into it than just being a state university.
With its graduates Ian Jay Torres Matias hitting the top-notch, Angelo Valle Santiago reaching fifth, and Aldrin Cruz Bernardo landing tenth in the previous board, the university has set a standard above all. While it is consistently present on the top ten, our school is usually taken with little credit. BulSU, excellent as it is, however, has been somewhat overshadowed by the more popular names of other prestigious universities, specifically the Big Four around Metro.

On Twerking and Social Media
A few weeks ago, a video of singer-actress Miley Cyrus “twerking” on stage during this year’s Video Music Awards (VMA) became instantly viral on the World Wide Web – an image very far from what the public had seen six years ago, when she was still sporting a long blonde wig rocking along to the song Best of Both Worlds, “Hannah Montana” style.
One of the Greatest Decisions
“Journalism will kill you, but it will keep you alive while you’re at it.” – Horace Greeley
As I took up Journalism as my course, I’m aware that variety of reactions from the people I know arises. Some said I won’t get so much money from it. Some said it’s impressive I picked Journalism over other courses. But honestly I don’t care what other people will think about what I've taken up. For me I’m absolutely sure that I wanted this. Journalism keeps me going.

Master of None
Jack of all trades, master of none.
In my reminiscence fifteen years ago, I was a child dreaming to become “this” or “that.” I once dreamt to become an astronaut who travels in space, or a scientist who formulates and discovers things through observation and curiosity. There was a time that I dreamt to become an architect, a detective, a doctor, a biologist, a scientist or an archeologist.

Why the Print Industry will not die
Before there is social media, there are already newspapers. Before we become netizens, we are readers.
As a journalism student, I have always been challenged as to why I chose this course—to waste my four years studying a profession that is about to end, as others would often say.

Church vs. State
With Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates “Soc” Villegas as the newly-elected president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, surely the hurdling conflict regarding the controversial Republic Act No. 10354, better known as the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act, does not stop here.

LITERARY
It is over
The beginning of the end.
It is widely said and felt, as the destruction of the nature and climate change happening in the world the end of our place is near to come. It is an inch away. Calamity is not unusual in our ears. It is normal thing that we saw rescue operations, relief goods, destroyed houses and even lost of lives on the television. A heartfelt thing that we could see dead people carried by the authority, but who should be blamed on this thing that is happening in real scene? |
