Green Cobra’s prevail on BulSU Cheer Dance competition
By Elaine Bautista and Jessa Grace Olesco
Heightened voice of lively crowd echoed all over the Bulacan State University Activity Center (BulSU-AC) as the College of Arts and Letters (CAL) Green Cobras garnered the overall championship for the Cheer Dance Competition in the previous 2013 Intramurals, Friday, September 20.
Showing off their best formations of intensified pyramids and heart-skipping stunts, the Cobras wowed their audience earning them a total of 96 points, overpowering other colleges and satellite campuses.
Other titlists for the competition were the College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) Firefox who landed as the 1st runner-up with a streak of 90.33 points, and the last year’s title holder College of Home Economics (CHE) Tigers with 85.33 points as the 2nd runner-up.
Modeson Jay Manalastas, third year Broadcasting Major shares his overwhelming feeling and experience after they regain the crown.
“Syempre napaka overwhelming kasi first time ko lang sumali sa team tapos nanalo pa kami at syempre yung feeling ng naibalik sa amin yung crown iba talaga yung pakiramdam”, he revealed.
For the preparation on their act, they spend almost 3 months of training only to perfect their stunts they have showed last intramurals. And they are very thankful to Aaron Berboso who is the man behind those breath taking stunts.
“Malaki talaga yung pagpapasalamat namin ng buong team kay Aaron Berboso, siya yung head trainor namin. Siya yung nag isip nung stunts naming yung routine”, according to him.
In spite of the bruises they have during the practiced, they don’t have any serious accident. They gain exposures because of their victory.
“Nagkaroon kami ng other commitments pagkatapos nung intrams, nagshow yung pep sa Meycauayan at Pampanga parang guestings ganun”, he said.
As of now they have no plan yet for the next intramurals because they are focusing on their study especially now, which are exams week.
