Once upon a time we were the underdogs.
Yet, as Bulacan State University prevailed on the September 2013 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination, it proved that there is more into it than just being a state university. With its graduates Ian Jay Torres Matias hitting the top-notch, Angelo Valle Santiago reaching fifth, and Aldrin Cruz Bernardo landing tenth in the previous board, the university has set a standard above all. While it is consistently present on the top ten, our school is usually taken with little credit. BulSU, excellent as it is, however, has been somewhat overshadowed by the more popular names of other prestigious universities, specifically the Big Four around Metro. |
THE OBSTRUCTIONISTby Jessa Grace T. Olesco
Church vs. StateWith Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates “Soc” Villegas as the newly-elected president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, surely the hurdling conflict regarding the controversial Republic Act No. 10354, better known as the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act, does not stop here.
Why the Print Industry will not dieBefore there is social media, there are already newspapers. Before we become netizens, we are readers.
As a journalism student, I have always been challenged as to why I chose this course—to waste my four years studying a profession that is about to end, as others would often say. More from The Obstructionist |

On Twerking and Social Media
A few weeks ago, a video of singer-actress Miley Cyrus “twerking” on stage during this year’s Video Music Awards (VMA) became instantly viral on the World Wide Web – an image very far from what the public had seen six years ago, when she was still sporting a long blonde wig rocking along to the song Best of Both Worlds, “Hannah Montana” style.

Journalists: We have a Bible named Code of Ethics"Seek for the truth and report it." This sentence have had risen from my mind after we interviewed and asked a question concerning what part of the Journalist’s Code of Ethics do journalists usually followed. We then asked an experienced journalist and told us this quote: ‘’Panindigan ninyo na lagi kayong nasa side ng tama [Stand that you are always on the side of the truth].” Master of noneJack of all trades, master of none.
In my reminiscence fifteen years ago, I was a child dreaming to become “this” or “that.” I once dreamt to become an astronaut who travels in space, or a scientist who formulates and discovers things through observation and curiosity. There was a time that I dreamt to become an architect, a detective, a doctor, a biologist, a scientist or an archeologist. More from Bullet Point |

One of the Greatest Decisions“Journalism will kill you, but it will keep you alive while you’re at it.” – Horace Greeley
As I took up Journalism as my course, I’m aware that variety of reactions from the people I know arises. Some said I won’t get so much money from it. Some said it’s impressive I picked Journalism over other courses. But honestly I don’t care what other people will think about what I've taken up. For me I’m absolutely sure that I wanted this. Journalism keeps me going. Through Journalism I've discovered places I've never been before. I saw places I never imagined I would reach; I saw and encounter personalities I only once watch in the television. I witnessed events that I've never seen before. |

Sister of Pork BarrelIt’s been said and finalize, SK Election is now just a piece of trash.
The rumors were right, it’s over. It’s been ratified that election for the SangguniangKabataan will be no longer existed on October. In this case, is the Senate already proved that corruption is practiced by the young aged? Posters, streamers, tarpaulins, button pins and a lot of paraphernalia’s were already widely distributed. Alot of money was already been used and wasted as early as now. But we can figure out, why those people are using such big amount of money for that position that the benefits that one could have is just simple as 123? |
