It is over
By Elaine Bautista
The beginning of the end.
It is widely said and felt, as the destruction of the nature and climate change happening in the world the end of our place is near to come. It is an inch away.
Calamity is not unusual in our ears. It is normal thing that we saw rescue operations, relief goods, destroyed houses and even lost of lives on the television. A heartfelt thing that we could see dead people carried by the authority, but who should be blamed on this thing that is happening in real scene?
Climate change is the biggest factor why we are suffering to this thing. People have the insufficient knowledge of what might happen if they will continue their wrong doings. In what time do they would realize that all of these are happening because of their own negligence? It is sad to hear that we, the people of this world, benefited by this nature are the one who are destructing it?
Last time, when Typhoon Santi strikes Luzon, I am one of those many people who experience the tragedy brought by the typhoon. It was my first encounter to wake up as early as 2 am with a knee level flood on the ground. It is not usual to me that the water turn down too fast that we were all surprise to what was happened.
The flood was stayed for 10 hours before it finally dried. I know for the fact it was due to the climate change that really bothering us for so many years. As the ice from the North and South poles melt, it goes down to the different regions that result to different life destructive calamities.
As years passed, and there it comes, there are threats in our mind that the end is really near to happen. We should enlighten our minds that these things that happening are warnings for more tragedy to come. We should always be ready for what might happen. Because as the bible said, the end is always there and will be near.
