6 out of 10 netizens yes to fully scrap pork

Six out of ten netizens were in absolute favor to abolish the pork barrel system.
Sophomore Broadcasting Major Charles Dean Reyes said he affirms to kick the Priority Development Assistance Fund out of Congress as it is only wasted on the hands of the wrong people.
“Oo. Para hindi na makurakot ang pera ng taumbayan,” reasoned Kezia Maricar Mercado, 20, from BSIT 4A of the same university.
Ronnel Saluendo, 2nd year Broadcasting student also from BulSU, told that it is about time to abolish the pork barrel system and the different departments should be the one held responsible for funds of projects.
I’m very much in favor for it,” Saluendo answered.
Another BulSUan, Luis Baylon of BS Electrical Engineering pointed out that PDAF system must finally stop.
Gaia Adelette Sison, 20, BS Food Tech senior from UP Los Baños, cited that following the pork’s abolition, an agency handling public projects should be established.
On the other hand, while agreeing for PDAF’s abolition, there were those who doubt on the possibility of its removal in Congress.
The statement was further supported by fellow classmate of Ramirez, Jeremel Anne Vicente.
“Parang gitna kasi pag sinabi mong pork barrel, iyan talaga yung ginagamit ng mga ‘mababait’ na Kongresista na talagang tumutulong by their hearts. Dun sila kumukuha.
Rustom Mateo, 20, a call center agent based in Marikina, cited that the pork barrel’s full-scale abolition would mean hindering the country’s development.
Kung totally iaabolish, walang progress,” he discussed.
Meanwhile, there was also one who opposes the pork throw down and instead suggested to have a survey regarding public funds management.
It can be recalled during the visit of Senator Teofisto “TG” Guingona III as a guest speaker in Marcelo H. del Pilar’s 163rd anniversary in San Nicolas, Bulakan, Bulacan last August 30, he said in his interview that a majority of 15 out of 24 Senators voted for pork barrel abolition. Guingona even endorsed the empowerment of the people via social media through his proposed crowd sourcing bill.
The Senator further noted that the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee wherein he is the Chairman had already started its investigation on the anomalous usage of the Priority Development and Assistance Fund (PDAF) with the surrender of Janet Lim-Napoles.
Guingona ended.
