It’s been said and finalize, SK Election is now just a piece of trash.
The rumors were right, it’s over. It’s been ratified that election for the SangguniangKabataan will be no longer existed on October. In this case, is the Senate already proved that corruption is practiced by the young aged?
Posters, streamers, tarpaulins, button pins and a lot of paraphernalia’s were already widely distributed. Alot of money was already been used and wasted as early as now. But we can figure out, why those people are using such big amount of money for that position that the benefits that one could have is just simple as 123?
As an incumbent SK official, I am very much aware of what’s going on in the real world. SK chairman is the only one who could receive money and for their councilors? Only scholarships are they are able to avail. Salary depends on the era of the barangay.
SK’s main purposed is to provide things of the teenagers in their respective areas. But nowadays it is not the thing that is happening. The SK’s should help the young ones in their school life. Helping to have scholarships should be done but instead they focused on the things they want.
Basketball league, it is a ‘project’ that is not missed on one area. But it’s that really a project it cannot help and changed the lives of the teen. It’s just a dirty thing and act that the officials are spending a lot of money for that. Funny thing to hear is that the funds they released for that is not ‘enough’ and they need to have solicitation.
In our barangay which I will not name, the pleasure of being a SK chairman is used in a different way. One case is that, the excess funds that left after the Basketball League and the excess of the solicitation, they will use i in their own ‘special trip’, special trip that they are only the one that could be benefited.
How can I just imagine that projects that could benefit on the barangay will be done by the time they are leaving their positions? How about the 2 years before they leave?
Different reactions were gained after Senate Franklin Drilon announced the abolishment of it. There are Pro’s and Con’s. Rallies were done. People who are in favor of it especially who are running for the position are having hard time because as I have said money were already put on the eyes and mouth of the people.
Yes, I received and availed scholarships for three semesters because of being a SK officials, yet behind that benefits, I am in favor of putting SK election on junk. Remember the pork barrel? as simple as that.
